Job summary

Generate Capital is seeking an Associate in Structured Finance to join a small, growing team focusing on capital markets strategy. You will help execute debt and tax equity structures, support deal structuring and due diligence, and build models to optimize capital structures.

You will prepare investor materials, collaborate with banks and tax equity investors, and stay informed on industry trends to drive strategic financing decisions. This role is based in New York on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant industry experience with a demonstrated track record of supporting the structuring and closing of project finance debt and/or tax equity transactions
• A demonstrated passion for, and commitment to, our mission
• Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience, with an outstanding academic record and high level of personal integrity
• Strong ownership mentality for all aspects of the financial modeling, due diligence, and deal execution process
• Outstanding analytical, quantitative, and technical abilities, including expert command of tax equity and project finance modeling concepts
• Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills
• Balance of creative and commercial instincts, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently in a fast-paced environment
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the desire to work with both internal and external stakeholders
• Intellectual agility, curiosity, and creativity, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment; intelligence and humility, unimpeachable integrity, and glowing references
• Collaborative leadership style with strong judgment under ambiguity

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small team as an integral part of the capital markets strategy and financing assets
• Execute on debt and tax equity structures to finance assets and portfolios efficiently
• Support deal structuring, due diligence, and execution to bring transactions to close
• Build and maintain debt and tax equity financial models for comparison and valuation analyses
• Prepare materials for investor, management, and board-level presentations to support capital decisions
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, lenders, tax equity investors, and other capital providers
• Stay updated on industry trends through research reports and news releases
