Technibus, Inc. is seeking a Communications Technician I in Salt Lake City to join our structured cabling team. The role requires learning and performing essential cabling tasks with minimal to one year of prior experience.

You will install outlets, route and label cables, assemble and mount racks, terminate devices, and ensure accurate documentation. The job emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork with opportunities to grow in a national infrastructure provider.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 0–1 year experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic construction industry knowledge preferred.
  • Must possess and learn to effectively use the listed tools.
  • Ability to meet Company minimum driving standards preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install a work area outlet for floor, modular furniture and wall applications.
  • Route cable through furniture and walls; perform pre-termination procedures and labeling.
  • Assemble and mount closets, racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware, and grounding.
  • Perform fire-stopping, sleeves, and cable routing through sleeves and penetrations.
  • Terminate low-voltage devices.
  • Complete IES paperwork: timesheets, transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers.
  • Adhere to company, customer, and industry standards and safety rules.
  • Handle additional tasks as assigned.
