MetroPower in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Technician 2, Low Voltage to install, terminate, test, and maintain voice, data, and fiber optic cabling for commercial and industrial projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• 5 years experience in structured cabling strongly preferred.
• BICSI Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work areas and complete Job Hazard Analysis prior to starting work to ensure a safe jobsite and compliance with company safety standards.
• Review and plan daily tasks, scheduling, equipment, tools, and material needs to maintain project efficiency and quality.
• Analyze blueprints and prepare for upcoming tasks by anticipating equipment, procedures, and training needs.
• Complete post-installation documentation, timesheets, materials reconciliation, and daily logs.
• Run new cabling and conduit in new or existing buildings.
• Terminate and test fiber optic cabling, new and existing cabling, voice and data jacks, and data cables.
• Build and mount rack equipment such as ladder racks and cable trays.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and hardware components at various locations to ensure system functionality and performance.
• Maintain structured cabling systems and assist in deploying, splicing, and testing fiber optic cable.
• Operate necessary vehicles, tools, and equipment as required by job specifications.
