Job summary

MetroPower is seeking a Technician 1, Low Voltage to install, terminate, test, and maintain voice, data, and fiber optic cabling for commercial projects in Albany, GA. You will read blueprints, ensure safety and code compliance, troubleshoot issues, and support high-quality, on-time installations.

You will work with field teams to deliver reliable cabling solutions while providing excellent customer service, staying current on cabling standards, and following safety procedures to minimize

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• 5 years experience in structured cabling preferred.
• BICSI Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work areas and complete Job Hazard Analysis prior to starting work to ensure a safe jobsite and compliance with company safety standards.
• Review and plan daily tasks, scheduling, equipment, tools, and material needs to maintain project efficiency and quality.
• Analyze blueprints and prepare for upcoming tasks by anticipating equipment, procedures, and training needs.
• Complete post-installation documentation, timesheets, materials reconciliation, and daily logs.
• Run new cabling and conduit in new or existing buildings.
• Terminate and test fiber optic cabling, new and existing cabling, voice and data jacks, and data cables.
