Job summary

Networking Technologies + Support (NTS) is seeking a Cable Technician to install and maintain fiber and copper cabling in the Richmond, VA area. The role requires 5–7 years of low-voltage cabling experience, familiarity with industry standards, and the ability to read schematics.

Responsibilities include pulling cables, terminating jacks and panels, and installing racks. Travel around Virginia and completion of work orders with documentation are expected; strong communication and safety mindset

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of low voltage cabling experience.
• Familiarity with standards (TIA/EIA, NEC)
• Ability to read and understand schematics/diagrams
• Able to pass background, driving record, and drug screening
• Willingness to travel within Virginia, USA
• Current valid driver’s license that is automotive insurable

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of fiber and copper cabling for data and voice networks.
• Pull and route CAT5/6 cables in a new construction commercial environment.
• Terminate jacks and dress/terminate distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels).
• Install support structures such as ladders, racks, and j-hooks.
• Review client requirements and cost out consumables, labor, and duration to complete the job.
• Learn on the job with the company and maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
