Job summary

LINX is seeking a Structured Cabling/Low Voltage Lead Technician to coordinate onsite commercial construction projects. You will report to the Project Foreman and Project Manager, supervising crews, planning manpower, and ensuring project goals are met.

The role requires hands-on leadership, proficiency in blueprints, and strong communication to keep customers and managers informed throughout project lifecycles. Travel is 100% to multiple project sites nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in cabling standards with the ability to lead projects, delegate tasks, and supervise teams of 5+ technicians.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and managing all aspects of project planning.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal) with a focus on accurate timesheet management and efficiency.
  • Terminate jacks, patch panels, 66/110 blocks, and follow 568A/B color codes.
  • Use Fluke testers to verify connections and troubleshoot voice/data issues.
  • Install and configure switches, routers, modems, and wireless access points.
  • Work with category cable, COAX, fiber (RG6, RG11, RG59); build out closets; operate Hilti guns, drills, bandsaws, and power tools.

  • Oversee account coordination, including direct customer interaction and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and communicate status reports, keeping customers and Project Managers informed.

The Structured Cabling/ Low Voltage Lead Technician plays a key role in onsite project coordination within commercial construction environments.

Reporting to the Project Foreman and Project Manager, this role ensures structured cabling projects stay on track by managing daily tasks, supervising crews, and meeting project goals.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements
  • Expertise in cabling standards with the ability to lead projects, delegate tasks, and supervise teams of 5+ technicians .
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and managing all aspects of project planning .
  • Strong communication skills (& verbal) with a focus on accurate timesheet management and efficiency.
  • Terminate jacks, patch panels, 66/110 blocks , and follow 568A/B color codes .
  • Use Fluke testers to verify connections and troubleshoot voice/data issues.
  • Install and configure switches, routers, modems, and wireless access points .
  • Work with category cable, COAX, fiber (RG6, RG11, RG59) , build out closets, and operate Hilti guns, hammer drills, band saws, and power tools .
  • Ability to lift/carry/setup a 50 pound box or ladder.
  • Must own low voltage tools ( strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches)
  • Able to work 2nd /3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure.
  • Must pass a 7-year background check, drug screen, and physical.
  • Requires valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance
  • Professional working proficiency in English
Preferred Certifications (not Required)
  • BICSI Technician or Installation Certification
  • OSHA 10
  • Powder Actuated Tools Certification
  • Confined Space Certification
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Manufacturers certifications for Installation and Maintenance
  • Lift Certified
  • High School diploma, Associate’s degree or technical degree a plus
Pay Rate

$24.00 - $35.00/ hr
