Job summary

LINX is seeking skilled low voltage technicians for national project work. The role focuses on installing, terminating, and testing structured cabling across commercial settings, including MDF/IDF buildouts. OTDR and fiber testing experience is essential, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Ability to terminate a jack, pull cable and work a 90 without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber, and coaxial cables.
• Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, and wire management.
• Operate OTDRs and Fluke testers for fiber testing, troubleshooting and certification.
• Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing per BICSI/NEC standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain professionalism on site.
• Travel to job sites within the state and nationwide as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with industry standards.
• Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware, while troubleshooting low voltage cable systems.
• Must have hands‑on experience using OTDRs and Fluke Loss Testers to perform fiber‑optic testing, troubleshooting, and certification.
• Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, NEC, and local regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, maintain professionalism and strong communication skills to resolve technical issues and provide solutions.
• Ensure high-quality, organized, and professional workmanship on all installations to meet project specifications and exceed customer expectations.
• Travel to job sites anywhere within your state, may also be required to travel within the USA

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of commercial low voltage installation experience:
• Demonstrated experience operating OTDR and Fluke Loss Test equipment for fiber‑optic testing and troubleshooting.
• Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with no supervision
• Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables with no supervision
• Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with no supervision
• Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50‑pound box or ladder
• Must own low voltage tools (strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches)
• Able to work 2nd/3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure.
• Must pass a 7‑year background check, drug screen, and physical.
• Requires valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance
• Commercial construction experience preferred
• Professional working proficiency in English

• OSHA 10 Certification
• BICSI Technician or Installation Certification
• Powder Actuated Tools Certification
• Confined Space Certification
• CPR and First Aid certified
• Manufacturers certifications for Installation and Maintenance
• High School Diploma

Pay Rate:

$23.00 - $28.00/hour
