Job summary

Network Cabling Services (NCS) in the Dallas–Fort Worth area seeks an experienced Structured Cabling Lead Technician to oversee field installation activities and provide hands-on leadership for low-voltage and telecommunications projects.

The ideal candidate will lead installation crews, read blueprints, terminate copper cabling, test systems, ensure safety, and coordinate with project managers. Fiber optic experience is a plus, and some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience installing structured cabling, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems.
• Ability to lead a crew or act as senior field technician.
• Knowledge of copper cabling, termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read construction drawings and follow installation specifications.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technicians on structured cabling and low-voltage installs.
• Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot copper cabling systems.
• Read blueprints, cable schedules, floor plans, and installation drawings.
• Oversee cable routing, pathways, cable tray, conduit, racks, cabinets, and telecom rooms.
• Ensure installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate daily work assignments, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Monitor crew productivity and provide guidance and training to technicians.
• Communicate project updates, site concerns, and material needs to project managers or supervisors.
• Maintain accurate installation records, test results, and daily reports.
• Follow all company safety procedures and ensure safe work practices on site.
• Assist with troubleshooting, quality inspections, and project closeout activities.
