Job summary

Network Cabling Services (NCS) seeks an experienced Level 2 Structured Cabling Technician to support commercial, industrial, and data center projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The role requires 4–6 years of hands-on experience with copper cabling, knowledge of blueprints, and ability to lead a small field crew.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, or low-voltage installation.
• Strong hands-on experience with copper cabling installation and terminations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and cable schedules.
• Experience leading or coordinating a small installation crew.
• Knowledge of cable testing, labeling, dressing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining teamwork and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a small crew of structured cabling technicians on assigned projects.
• Perform and oversee the installation, routing, dressing, labeling, and termination of copper cabling systems.
• Complete terminations for RJ45 connectors, keystone jacks, patch panels, and telecommunications outlets.
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, cable schedules, and installation drawings.
• Ensure cable installations follow project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements.
• Test, troubleshoot, and resolve basic cabling issues.
• Coordinate daily assignments, tools, materials, and equipment to maintain productivity.
• Provide hands-on guidance and support to junior technicians.
• Communicate project progress, material needs, and field issues to project managers and supervisors.
• Maintain accurate installation records and report project concerns promptly.
• Keep work areas organized and follow all company safety policies and job-site procedures.
