Job summary

Miller Electric Company in Melbourne, FL seeks a Structured Cabling Project Manager to lead electrical construction projects from planning through completion. You will ensure safety, manage budgets, schedules, and resources, and coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities include estimating, procurement, billings, site visits, mentoring staff, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies while pursuing business

Qualifications

• ICT Structured Cabling experience required.
• Certification: BICSI RCDD preferred.
• College degree preferred.
• Business development experience preferred.
• Project management experience required.
• Minimum five years in copper (Cat6/Cat6A) and fiber (SM/MM) cabling inside commercial buildings.
• Minimum five years reading blueprints, site layouts, and conducting site surveys.
• Minimum five years working with testing equipment and troubleshooting in commercial buildings.
• Minimum five years working with racks, patch panels, raceways, and cable management.

• Adhere to all project policies and procedures as specified.
• Generate estimates and develop project plans with timelines and staffing.
• Oversee on-site execution to meet budget, schedule, and design intent.
• Coordinate all personnel and subcontractors on assigned projects.

Job Summary

Miller Electric- Structured Cabling Project Manager

This role is responsible for leading electrical construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring all work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company, client, and project requirements. The Project Manager develops project plans, estimates, schedules, staffing strategies, and financial forecasts while coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to achieve successful project outcomes. Responsibilities include overseeing project execution, managing billings and collections, procuring materials, monitoring labor and resource needs, conducting regular jobsite visits, and maintaining strong client relationships. The role also provides regular project updates to leadership, mentors and develops team members, promotes continuous improvement and innovation, and ensures compliance with all company policies and industry safety standards while supporting organizational initiatives and business objectives. #miller #LI-JJ1

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure all company, client, and project policies/procedures are adhered to as specified.
• Generate estimates, prepare and review project proposal or plan to determine and establish a time frame, work plan, fundinglimitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases ofthe project.
• Oversee the project through administrative direction of on-site supervision to ensure the project is built in accordance with design,budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with the customer to validate expectations are understood and met before, during, andafter project completion.
• Plan, coordinate, and/or manage activities of all company personnel and subcontractors on assigned project(s).
• Identify and create new business development opportunities.
• Generate billings and lead the collections process for projects.
• Frequent project visits with field supervision and other personnel to gain an understanding of any progress, needs, or issues. Assistin the planning of future labor/material needs of the project.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to the job site by working directly with vendorsBuild long term relationships with both the clients and fellow employees by consistently meeting expectations and offeringinnovative solutions.
• Provide consistent feedback and reports to the business unit vice president.
• Manage project review process with particular emphasis on financial forecasting.
• Provide advice, guidance, mentoring, and direction to subordinates and other junior personnel toward the achievement of theirpersonal development goals.
• Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing skills and competencies to enhanceindividual and team innovation and productivity.
• Responsible for job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standards for personnel under his or hersupervision.
• Support and participate in company-sponsored initiatives and activities

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of five years’ experience working in copper (Cat6, Cat6A) and fiber optic (SM/MM) cabling, installation, splicing, termination, and testing inside a commercial building.
• Must have a minimum of five years’ work experience reading blueprints, site layouts, and performing site surveys.
• Must have a minimum of five years’ experience working with testing equipment (e.g., Fluke) and troubleshooting tools inside a commercial building.
• Must have a minimum of five years’ experience working with racks, patch panels, raceways, and cable management inside a commercial building.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365
