Job summary

Miller Electric Company is seeking a Structured Cabling Project Manager to lead electrical construction projects from planning to completion in Florida. You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customers, manage budgets, schedules, and billings, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring safety and quality across projects.

The role requires five years of copper/fiber cabling experience, blueprints/site surveys, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with ICT structured cabling and project management.
  • BICSI RCDD certification is preferred for design and field guidance.
  • Bachelor level degree preferred; strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project execution from planning through completion while meeting safety, schedule, and budget targets.
  • Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to achieve objectives.
  • Generate estimates, prepare plans, and manage staffing and funding for projects.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and manage collections.
  • Maintain client relationships and provide regular project updates to leadership.
  • Ensure procurement, material delivery, and site safety compliance.

Job Summary

Miller Electric- Structured Cabling Project Manager

This role is responsible for leading electrical construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring all work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company, client, and project requirements. The Project Manager develops project plans, estimates, schedules, staffing strategies, and financial forecasts while coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to achieve successful project outcomes. Responsibilities include overseeing project execution, managing billings and collections, procuring materials, monitoring labor and resource needs, conducting regular jobsite visits, and maintaining strong client relationships. The role also provides regular project updates to leadership, mentors and develops team members, promotes continuous improvement and innovation, and ensures compliance with all company policies and industry safety standards while supporting organizational initiatives and business objectives. #miller #LI-JJ1

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies/procedures are adhered to as specified.
  • Generate estimates, prepare and review project proposal or plan to determine and establish a time frame, work plan, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
  • Oversee the project through administrative direction of on-site supervision to ensure the project is built in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with the customer to validate expectations are understood and met before, during, and after project completion.
  • Plan, coordinate, and/or manage activities of all company personnel and subcontractors on assigned project(s).
  • Identify and create new business development opportunities.
  • Generate billings and lead the collections process for projects.
  • Frequent project visits with field supervision and other personnel to gain an understanding of any progress, needs, or issues. Assist in the planning of future labor/material needs of the project.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to the job site by working directly with vendorsBuild long term relationships with both the clients and fellow employees by consistently meeting expectations and offering innovative solutions.
  • Provide consistent feedback and reports to the business unit vice president.
  • Manage project review process with particular emphasis on financial forecasting.
  • Provide advice, guidance, mentoring, and direction to subordinates and other junior personnel toward the achievement of their personal development goals.
  • Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing skills and competencies to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
  • Responsible for job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standards for personnel under his or her supervision.
  • Support and participate in company-sponsored initiatives and activities
Qualifications
  • ICT Structured Cabling experience required
  • BICSI RCDD is preferred
  • A college degree is preferred
  • Business Development experience preferred
  • Project management experience required
  • Must have a minimum of five years’ experience working in copper (Cat6, Cat6A) and fiber optic (SM/MM) cabling, installation, splicing, termination, and testing inside a commercial building.
  • Must have a minimum of five years’ work experience reading blueprints, site layouts, and performing site surveys.
  • Must have a minimum of five years’ experience working with testing equipment (e.g., Fluke) and troubleshooting tools inside a commercial building.
  • Must have a minimum of five years’ experience working with racks, patch panels, raceways, and cable management inside a commercial building.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
