Job summary

Chicago Bridge & Iron Company is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to lay out, align and weld fabricated components for structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks and piping systems. The role requires reading blueprints, selecting weld processes, and performing welds in multiple positions to ensure precision and quality.

Responsibilities include laying out parts, assembling, and maintaining weld integrity with attention to safety guidelines and production schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in construction or fabrication settings is preferred.
• Ability to read a standard measuring tape and basic drawings.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or related materials according to specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly, and welding using knowledge of metal properties and welding techniques.
• Welds components in various positions and checks weld quality.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings to guide assembly.
• Manages material handling and installation tasks as needed.
