Job summary

Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks a Structural Welder to join its skilled team in Pascagoula, Mississippi. You'll build the steel backbone of ships through SMAW and FCAW welding, working in a 24/7 shipyard environment to meet exacting standards and safety practices.

Only candidates with at least one year of FCAW/SMAW experience and the ability to pass a military specification welding assessment will be considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year welding experience in FCAW and SMAW.
• Ability to pass a military specification welding assessment in 3G, 2G and 4G positions.
• US citizenship required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality welding using SMAW and FCAW.
• Join, weld, and reinforce a variety of structural steel components.
• Work from drawings, instructions, and welding procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Operate in an active, 24/7 shipyard environment including heights, confined spaces, and changing weather.
• Maintain and follow safety practices that meet and exceed industry standards.
