Job summary

Aerotek in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a Welder to perform MIG welding on structural steel components in a professional fabrication shop for large-scale assemblies. You will read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, and ensure high-quality welds while supporting safe material handling in the plant.

Responsibilities include fitting, tack welding, using flux core welding as needed, and collaborating with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards, with a contract-to-hire

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of MIG welding experience.
• At least 2 years of structural steel welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Hands-on experience using a MIG wire feed gun for structural steel welding.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on structural steel components per project specs.
• Read blueprints and welding symbols to determine weld locations, sizes, and procedures.
• Fit up and align structural steel members based on welding blueprints.
• Perform fabrication tasks including fitting, tack welding, and assembly preparation.
• Use flux core welding as needed to complete welds on various assemblies.
• Assist with unloading and moving structural beams using an overhead crane and rigging.
• Inspect welds visually for quality and adherence to specs.
• Maintain a clean, organized weld area and proper PPE use.
• Collaborate with welders, fitters, and fabrication staff to meet schedules and quality standards.
