Job summary

Logistec is seeking a Structural Welder to join our marine and environmental operations. You will weld, fit, and fabricate structural steel per drawings, ensuring safety and quality across projects. The role demands attention to detail and the ability to work in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting welding processes, inspecting welds, and maintaining equipment while adhering to safety policies and producing quality work in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural welding preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
• Ability to pass welding tests or certifications.
• Experience with structural steel fabrication preferred.
• Basic knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and safety procedures.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, levels, and calipers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding using MIG, FCAW, and/or Stick welding processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, drawings, and job specifications.
• Fit, align, tack, and weld structural steel components.
• Measure and inspect completed work to ensure proper dimensions and weld quality.
• Set up and operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
• Perform grinding, cutting, beveling, and preparation of materials as needed.
• Inspect welds for defects and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Maintain welding equipment and report equipment issues to supervision.
• Follow established welding procedures, quality standards, and production requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of equipment and materials.
• Work cooperatively with welders, fitters, supervisors, and other members of the operations team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
