Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter for a local structural steel fabrication shop in Waco, TX. You will read blueprints, fabricate components, and weld structural assemblies to exact specifications, ensuring tight tolerances and quality.

Candidates must provide their own welding gear and be prepared to complete a welding and blueprint test during the hiring process. This is a full-time, evaluation-to-hire position with weekly pay, benefits, and opportunities

Qualifications

• Structural steel fabrication and welding experience.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints.
• Experience building frames, studs, and structural assemblies.
• Burn table operation experience.
• Beam cutting, drilling, and layout experience.
• Strong measuring and fitting skills.
• Ability to pass welding and blueprint tests.
• Must provide own welding gear.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Fabricate and assemble structural steel components.
• Weld structural frames and assemblies to specification.
• Operate burn tables and fabrication equipment.
• Perform saw cuts, drill holes, and beam preparation.
• Measure, fit, and align components accurately.
• Maintain quality standards and production timelines.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain clean work areas.
