Job summary

Picou Group Contractors in Southeast Louisiana is seeking a skilled Structural Welder to join our team. You will perform welds on beams, columns and braces, read blueprints and welding symbols, and ensure workmanship meets project specs and codes.

Candidates should have 2–5 years of structural welding experience, a valid TWIC card, ability to pass drug tests, and Basic Plus certification or obtain it within the first week. Safety training and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years structural welding experience in industrial/construction
• TWIC card required
• Able to pass drug and alcohol tests
• Basic Plus certification required (or obtain within first week)
• Site safety training completed within first week
• Ability to pass welding test

Responsibilities

• Weld structural components: beams, columns, braces
• Read blueprints and welding symbols
• Weld with SMAW, FCAW, and MIG as required
• Ensure welds meet codes and project specs
• Inspect welds for quality and integrity
• Maintain welding equipment and a clean, safe work area
• Collaborate with fitters and supervisors to meet deadlines
