Job summary

PCI Manufacturing, LLC in Mobile, AL seeks qualified structural welders for a contract-based role. The position focuses on aluminum and steel welding, including multi-pass fillets and full-penetration joints per project specs.

Candidates must have welding experience, the ability to pass required qualification tests, and a commitment to safety. Overtime and shift flexibility are expected to support Austal USA project needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year as a B-Class Welder or 2 years GMAW MIG aluminum welding and/or 2 years FCAW/GMAW steel welding experience at a comparable employer.
• Completion of an Austal USA approved additional or accelerated Structural Welding training course may count towards additional required experience.
• Ability to pass A Class skills evaluation test for full penetration joint details, gouging and finishing processes.
• Ability to read construction drawings, job specifications and related manuals to obtain weld sizing and edge preparation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Weld aluminum and steel configurations per safety, quality and project specs.
• Instruct and mentor less-skilled welders as assigned.
• Maintain safe work practices and comply with Austal USA policies.
• Work shifts or overtime as required and adapt to project demands.
• Assist Welders, Fitters and Apprentices with daily tasks as directed.
