Job summary

Wallace Design Collective in Tulsa is offering a Structural Summer Intern position. You’ll work with our structural engineering team on real commercial, educational, healthcare, and residential projects, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard analysis and modeling software.

You’ll assist in structural design calculations, learn how buildings go from concept to standing structures, and participate in intern learning sessions and team meetings.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural concentration (sophomore/junior year by summer).
• Coursework in structural analysis and basic material design (Steel, Concrete, Wood, Masonry).
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or structural design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Structural Modeling & Analysis: Generate structural model geometry, gravity load, and lateral load analyses using RAM Structural System, RISA-3D, or ETABS.
• BIM & Documentation: Draft and model structural components in Revit.
• Engineering Calculations: Perform foundational design calculations for beams, columns, foundations, and connections under PE/SE guidance.
• Code & Load Application: Interpret building codes to determine loads (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS).
• Collaboration & Learning: Participate in intern learning sessions and project team meetings.
