Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Good attendance history and task-oriented approach.
• Able to read and follow procedures accurately.
• TIG welding fabrication experience on structural steel and sheet metal is preferred.
• Knowledge of blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Strong math skills including decimals to fractions conversions.
• Ability to read a parts list and quality check sheets.

Responsibilities

• Reads tape measure easily.
• Fabricates by welding sheet metal and structural steel to correct dimensions under supervision.
• Uses math functions accurately—multiplication, division, decimals to fractions.
• Fabricates welded sheet metal parts and structural steel frames per prints.
• Grinds outside welds smooth in preparation for finishing.
• Lays out holes to prints’ dimensions.
• Demonstrates knowledge of MIG welding applications.
• Maintains welder.
• Basic fit up and MIG welding of mild steel.
• Advanced fit up, MIG and TIG skills with stainless steel.
• Advanced blueprint and TIG and MIG welding skills.
