Job summary

MECO Group is currently seeking experienced structural steel welders for a Memphis-area data center project. Candidates must start immediately and be reliable, with a focus on quality and safety. The role includes welding, fit-up, inspection, and on-site tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.

Pay starts at $34–$36 per hour with weekly payroll and overtime opportunities notified before assignment. Per diem, lodging, and travel reimbursement may be provided per written project assignment.

Qualifications

• Two years of structural steel welding experience in construction or industrial settings.
• Ability to pass project-required weld test.
• Ability to read welding symbols and interpret drawings.
• Experience around steel erection, lifts, and elevated work areas.
• Pre-employment screening and verification of qualifications per policy.

MECO Group | Data Center Construction Project

MECO Group is seeking experienced Structural Steel Welders for a Memphis-area data center project already underway. We are expanding our crew and need dependable professionals who take pride in quality work and safe jobsite practices. MUST be able to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural steel welding according to project drawings, welding procedures, and specifications.

• Prepare joints, fit and tack components, and complete assigned welds.

• Inspect work for defects and communicate issues promptly.

• Assist with steel installation, fit-up, and related field tasks.

• Follow hot-work procedures, fall-protection requirements, and site safety rules.

Qualifications

• Two years demonstrated structural steel welding experience in construction or industrial settings.

• Ability to pass the project-required weld test in the applicable process and position.

• Ability to read welding symbols and interpret relevant drawings.

• Experience working safely around steel erection, lifts, and elevated work areas.

• OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 training preferred; required site credentials must be verified before assignment.

• Ability to perform essential job duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Project and Employment Details

• Starting pay: $34–$36 per hour, based on qualifications and demonstrated skills

• Weekly pay.

• Overtime opportunities based on project needs.

• Shift, start date, expected duration, and any applicable night differential will be confirmed before assignment.

• Eligibility for per diem, company-arranged lodging, and travel reimbursement will be explained in the written project assignment.
