Job summary

MECO Group is conducting a data center construction project in the Memphis area and seeks experienced structural steel fitters. The role requires translating drawings into precise field work, with immediate availability and the ability to work on-site.

Weekly pay and overtime opportunities are noted, with per diem and lodging options explained during assignment. Starting pay is $32–$36 per hour, based on qualifications and demonstrated skills.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read structural drawings and translate into field work.
• Demonstrated structural steel fitting experience in construction or industrial settings.
• Proficiency with measuring tools used for structural steel fitting.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and obtain direction before modifying members.
• Experience working safely at heights and around lifting operations.

Responsibilities

• Read structural drawings to identify member locations and connections.
• Measure, lay out, fit, and align beams, columns, plates, braces, and other components.
• Prepare connections and assist with bolt-up and installation.
• Check fit-up, alignment, and dimensions before final fastening or welding.
• Coordinate with welders, ironworkers, and field supervision.
• Follow rigging, fall-protection, equipment, and site safety requirements.
