Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welder/Fitter for 1st or 2nd shift in Cocoa, FL. You will read blueprints, assemble and weld structural steel in a workshop. This contract-to-hire role requires accuracy, safety, and teamwork.

Candidates should have FCAW experience or be willing to test; track torch and related tools familiarity preferred. Competitive pay up to $26/hr with a $3/hr second shift differential; on-site fabrication environment with emphasis on quality and production

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Pass all required Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) tests.
• Experience measuring, cutting, aligning, and assembling metal components.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to set up and operate a track torch.
• Welding certification (AWS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine layouts and fabrication requirements.
• Perform welding tasks according to project specifications and industry standards.
• Measure, cut, prepare, align, fit, and assemble metal and structural steel components.
• Set up and operate a track torch and use applicable welding equipment.
• Use fabrication tools and equipment, including oxyacetylene torches, plasma cutters, drill presses, angle presses, jigs, tape measures, and squares.
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Work with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality goals.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures.

Shifts Available: 1st and 2nd Shift
Pay Rate: Up to $26.00/hr., depending on experience
2nd Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hr.

Position Summary

We are hiring experienced Welders and Fitters to fabricate, weld, and assemble metal components in a shop environment. Candidates must be able to read blueprints, use fabrication tools, and complete work according to quality specifications and safety standards.

Structural steel experience is preferred but not required. All work is performed in the shop; no travel or field work is required.
