Novax Recruitment Ltd. is assisting a customer in New York to hire a Quality Control Inspector for structural steel and bridge fabrication.

This on-site, full-time role focuses on hands-on welding inspection and dimensional checks to ensure conformance with drawings and welding standards. You will review shop drawings and fabrication documentation, identify defects, and collaborate with production teams to resolve issues while developing toward AWS CWI certification.

Qualifications

• UT (Ultrasonic Testing) or VT (Visual Testing) certification.
• Hands-on welding inspection and fabrication quality control experience.
• Ability to read technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with welding inspection procedures and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills.
• Willingness to develop professionally toward AWS CWI certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of structural steel and fabricated components.
• Inspect welds, fit-ups and finished assemblies against drawings, specifications and applicable welding standards.
• Review shop drawings, weld symbols and fabrication documentation.
• Identify defects, nonconformances and quality issues, working with production teams to resolve them.
• Use measuring tools, gauges and inspection equipment to verify fabrication accuracy.
• Maintain accurate inspection reports and quality control documentation.
• Collaborate with welders, fitters, production supervisors and engineering teams to maintain quality standards.
