Job summary

Stony Brook Structures of Florida is seeking a Structural Steel Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)/QC for our Calverton, NY fabrication facility. The role requires inspecting structural steel welds, reviewing drawings, and ensuring QA compliance with AISC standards.

The candidate should hold AWS CWI certification, read plans, and perform NDT as needed, with experience in QA in a fabrication shop. This is a non-traveling, on-site position reporting to the QC Manager.

Qualifications

• Must hold AWS CWI certification.
• Experience reading drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of QA processes in structural steel fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain QC Manual and ensure compliance with AISC standards.
• Perform visual inspection of structural steel and welds.
• Conduct non-destructive testing (UT/MT) as required.
• Review welding procedures and welder qualifications.
• Compile inspection data and support audit programs.
