Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector for daily in-process inspections of structural steel fabrication and welding. You will work closely with welders, fabrication personnel, supervisors, and management to ensure members meet approved drawings, specs, and AWS/AISC standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and welding, with attention to detail and precise documentation using an iPad.

Qualifications

Must have experience in structural steel fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings.
Excellent recordkeeping and documentation skills.
Experience using digital QC tools on an iPad or tablet.

Responsibilities

Perform daily in-process inspections of structural steel fabrication and welding.
Inspect fit-up, dimensions, orientation, connections, holes, weld preparation.
Visually inspect welds for quality and compliance.
Verify weld size, length, location, profile and workmanship.
Document inspection results using an iPad and maintain QC records.
Identify and report nonconforming work and assist with corrective actions.
Communicate quality concerns with shop personnel and supervisors.
Coordinate with third-party inspectors when needed.
