Job summary

GPAC is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and institutional construction projects from award through closeout. The role involves coordinating detailing, engineering, fabrication, delivery, and field erection activities, and serving as the main point of contact for owners, general contractors, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Structural Steel Project Manager or recent graduate with a construction management degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
  • Experience with project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of AISC standards and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage structural steel projects from contract award through final completion.
  • Coordinate detailing, engineering, fabrication, delivery, and field erection activities.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and production timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Review contracts, specifications, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, and material procurement.
  • Coordinate with shop management and field superintendents to ensure project success.
  • Negotiate and manage change orders and project scope modifications.
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to leadership and clients.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Job description

A growing and well-established structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and institutional construction projects from award through closeout. Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage structural steel projects from contract award through final completion
  • Coordinate detailing, engineering, fabrication, delivery, and field erection activities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and production timelines
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Review contracts, specifications, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, and material procurement
  • Coordinate with shop management and field superintendents to ensure project success
  • Negotiate and manage change orders and project scope modifications
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to leadership and clients

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $80,000 - $135,000 DOE
