Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in painting, especially structural steel or industrial settings.
• Knowledge of paints, primers, thinners and their application methods.
• Proficient with spray guns, brushes and rollers for coating applications.
• Good attention to detail and strong quality control.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines when working with hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel surfaces for painting by cleaning, grinding, sanding and wiping with thinners.
• Apply coatings including primer, paint and protective finishes to steel components.
• Use spray guns, brushes and rollers to achieve a smooth, even finish.
• Inspect surfaces for contaminants, rust and imperfections before coating.
• Mix paints and primers according to specifications.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE at all times.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools.
