Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience painting structural steel or in industrial settings.
• Knowledge of paints, primers, thinners and their application methods.
• Proficient with spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines with hazardous materials.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel surfaces for painting (cleaning, grinding, sanding, wiping with thinners).
• Apply coatings (primer, paint, protective finishes) to steel components.
• Operate spray guns, brushes, and rollers for even coverage.
• Inspect surfaces for contaminants, rust, and imperfections before coating.
• Mix paints and primers according to specifications.
• Ensure coatings meet industry standards and project requirements.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Handle, store, and dispose of materials safely per regulations.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools.
• Perform quality checks on finished projects to verify durability.
• Coordinate with team members to complete projects on time and to spec.
