Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator to join our manufacturing team on first shift. You will fabricate, fit, and assemble structural steel components per engineering drawings and specs.

This role emphasizes precise layout, measurement, and quality workmanship. You will operate magnetic drills, ironworkers, saws, and cutting equipment, and safely position materials using cranes.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld/bolt specs.
• Layout, fit, and assemble structural steel components.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances before final weld.
• Operate fabrication equipment safely and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop drawings, weld symbols, bolt callouts, and fabrication specifications.
• Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components according to project requirements.
• Square, level, and align assemblies prior to welding and final fabrication.
• Verify dimensions, measurements, and tolerances before final assembly and weld-out.
• Identify and work with structural materials, including wide flange beams, hollow structural sections, channels, angles, and plate steel.
• Fabricate components such as shear tabs, clip angles, base plates, and structural connections.
• Use measuring and layout tools to ensure fabrication accuracy.
• Operate fabrication equipment including magnetic drills, ironworkers, saws, and cutting equipment.
• Utilize overhead cranes and rigging equipment to safely position and move materials.
• Maintain production schedules while meeting quality and safety requirements.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
