Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fabrication Foreman for the 2nd shift in York, PA. You will lead the shop team, manage schedules, and ensure on-time fabrication and delivery of projects.

The role requires hands-on steel fabrication knowledge, prior leadership experience, and strong English communication. Overtime and Saturdays may be required to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support shop employees while enforcing company policies and safety procedures.
• Oversee daily fabrication activities, including staffing, equipment, tools, and material needs.
• Maintain production schedules and fabrication plans to meet project deadlines.
• Coordinate deliveries and communicate product status, quality concerns, and shipping requirements with other departments and facilities.
• Develop and communicate standard fabrication procedures.
• Monitor workmanship and enforce quality control standards to ensure accurate, on-time completion.
• Review production processes and recommend improvements to efficiency, quality, and employee performance.
• Coordinate with project management, logistics, purchasing, vendors, and suppliers to support operations.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and facility conditions as needed.
• Balance workloads across the shop and communicate staffing or production concerns to the Regional Fabrication Operations Manager.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate material needs with the first-shift foreman, operations management, and purchasing.
• Determine work hours and staffing requirements to meet delivery commitments.
• Make operational decisions that support company goals and customer requirements.
