AEP Manufacturing Administrative Services, LLC is seeking a Structural Steel Detailing Manager to lead the detailing department within our Turnkey Processing Solutions, LLC subsidiary. This leadership role oversees SDS2 modeling and detailing operations, mentors detailers, and serves as the primary liaison between engineering, project management, fabrication, construction, and customers.

The Detailing Manager is responsible for planning, execution, and quality of all detailing activities

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of structural steel detailing experience.
• Minimum 3 years of detailing leadership, supervisory, or project coordination experience.
• Advanced proficiency with SDS2 Steel Detailing software.
• Strong knowledge of AISC and AWS standards.
• Experience with BIM workflows and model-based coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the structural steel detailing department.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign detailing resources across projects.
• Ensure detailing schedules align with procurement, fabrication, and erection requirements.
• Review SDS2 models and fabrication packages for accuracy and constructability.
• Coordinate with project managers, fabrication teams, and customers.
• Mentor detailing personnel and develop talent; maintain standards and QA procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
