AEP Manufacturing Administrative Services, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Structural Steel Detailing Manager in Glasgow, MO to lead the detailing department from award through fabrication release. You will oversee SDS2 modeling, coordinate with engineering, project management, fabrication, and customers, and drive continuous improvement in detailing accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of structural steel detailing experience.
• 3+ years of detailing leadership, supervisory, or project coordination experience.
• Advanced proficiency with SDS2 Steel Detailing software.
• Strong knowledge of AISC and AWS standards and detailing practices.
• Experience managing multiple detailing projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the structural steel detailing department, including Detailer I/II, Senior Detailers, and Lead Detailers; establish goals and workload planning.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign detailing resources across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to align detailing with procurement, fabrication, and erection requirements.
• Oversee development of SDS2 models, shop drawings, erection drawings, and fabrication packages; review models for coordination.
• Review and approve fabrication documents prior to release; ensure constructability considerations are incorporated.
• Maintain detailing standards, templates, and quality procedures; support BIM/model-based workflows.
