Qualifications

• Experience applying industrial coatings or primers.
• Structural steel fabrication/industrial painting background preferred.
• Ability to understand coating specifications and product data.
• Ability to properly mix and prepare industrial primers.
• Knowledge of wet-film and dry-film thickness concepts.
• Ability to recognize coating defects and adjust accordingly.
• Ability to operate around large structural steel members safely.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural steel members for primer application.
• Inspect and clean surfaces before coating.
• Mask surfaces not receiving primer.
• Mix primers per specs and project requirements.
• Apply primers using spray equipment with proper technique.
• Maintain spray patterns and achieve specified film thickness.
• Identify and correct coating defects and perform touch-ups.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams to maintain workflow.
• Ensure proper clean-up and maintenance of coating equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Assist with loading/unloading and staging as needed.
