Job summary

Fineline Steel is seeking a Painter (Industrial Coatings Technician) for surface preparation and coating application on fabricated steel components in compliance with project specs and manufacturer requirements. The role involves applying primers and topcoats, performing quality inspections, and maintaining equipment, while adhering to safety guidelines and documentation standards.

This on-site position reports to Floor Lead / Production Manager / Shop Supervisor and fits a production finishing

Qualifications

• Experience with surface preparation and coating applications per project specs.
• Familiarity with SSPC/NACE specs where applicable.
• Ability to measure film thickness and inspect coating quality.
• Commitment to safety PPE and environmental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel surfaces by blasting or cleaning as required.
• Apply primers, intermediates and topcoats using spray, brush, or roller.
• Measure wet/dry film thickness and inspect finished surfaces.
• Maintain coatings equipment and store materials properly.
• Follow safety and environmental procedures; report issues to supervision.
