Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is hiring a Full Time Machine Operator to join our fabrication team in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will set up and operate a variety of equipment in our shop and contribute to delivering high-quality steel products.

You will read CAD drawings, select correct settings, measure materials, and maintain a safe, organized workspace. Experience with CNC machines and overhead cranes is preferred; join a customer-focused team with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Able to read CAD drawings and notes.
• Able to read a tape measure to within 1/16 inch.
• Able to stand for a prolonged period.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and exhibit a strong work ethic.
• Uphold customer-centric and problem-solving mindset.
• Experience with CNC machines preferred.
• Experience with operating overhead crane preferred.
• Able to work 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate equipment in the fabrication shop.
• Select correct machine settings for optimal processing operations.
• Measure materials to ensure conformance with design specifications.
• Select appropriate material type, stock size and dimensions as required.
• Keep a clean, organized and safe work area; manage daily operations and materials usage records.
