Job summary

Brandow & Johnston, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to assist with the design of new buildings, seismic evaluation, and retrofit of existing structures as well as tenant improvements.

You will oversee design and construction for projects, perform site observations, provide structural calculations, and collaborate with CAD drafters while mentoring Design Engineers and building strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering required.
• Masters in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Two years of professional work experience in related field.
• Professional engineering license in the State of California to practice Civil Engineering.
• Ability to read and produce civil/structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and construction for projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct site observations and assessments to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Write detailed observation reports documenting site conditions and discrepancies.
• Provide structural calculations and develop analytical models to support design decisions.
• Collaborate closely with CAD drafters to produce construction documents.
• Mentor and guide Design Engineers for professional growth.
• Meet with Architects, Contractors, Owners, and Clients to foster strong relationships.
• Perform other tasks as required.
