  • Developing and coordinating structural designs using a variety of materials and systems
  • Producing and reviewing construction documents and calculations
  • Collaborating closely with architects, consultants, and clients throughout all project phases
  • Guiding in-house design teams, delegating work, and mentoring less-experienced engineers
  • Supporting performance-based design efforts and participating in the peer review process for complex/non-prescriptive building structures

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys both the technical and leadership sides of project delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS in Civil/Structural Engineering (MSCE)
  • 6+ years of structural design experience
  • S.E. license
  • Experience with performance-based design of tall buildings and/or seismic upgrades of existing structures
  • Familiarity with LATB, ASCE 41, and/or similar performance-based methodologies
  • Direct experience navigating the peer review process for non-prescriptive structural designs
  • Proven experience coordinating with architects and design consultants on commercial office, residential, and/or healthcare projects
  • Experience leading and directing an internal engineering team responsible for design drawings and calculations

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to drive to project sites as needed (primarily within the greater Seattle area)
  • Ability to travel domestically by air when required (projects outside the Seattle area, campus recruiting, conferences, etc.)
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods (reading, keying, and reviewing documents)
  • Ability to move about a typical office environment (standing, bending, reaching, twisting, squatting) and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to use standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier, printer, etc.)
  • Base salary: Approximately $110,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Strong potential for career growth and advancement, including opportunities to step into broader leadership roles
  • Additional compensation for hours worked over 40 per week (paid quarterly)

  • Company-paid life and AD&D insurance
  • Company-funded transit pass (ORCA or equivalent)
  • PTO aligned with experience level (approximately 15-27 days per year)
  • 8 paid holidays per year (including 1 floating holiday)
  • 401(k) plan with employer match
  • Annual bonus and profit-sharing opportunities (at company discretion)
  • Monthly health and wellness stipend
  • Employee assistance program (EAP)
  • Hybrid work model: Generally 3 days in-office / 2 days remote following completion of the initial training period
