Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti in the United States is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join the Construction Engineering Practice as a Project Engineer. The role focuses on structural design of Industrial and Advanced Manufacturing facilities, with responsibilities for connection design, temporary stability analysis, and contractor support.

Day-to-day work includes designing structural steel and concrete systems, creating contract documents, and designing connections from simple to complex.

Qualifications

• Degree (Master preferred) in structural engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer license.
• Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Structural Engineering.
• Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Responsible implementing the direction of engineering projects as defined by their Project Manager.
• Communication with clients to understand the project requirements.
• Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes.
• Design of structural steel connections.
• Preparation of contract documents utilizing Revit.
• Manage project design and deliverables as well as other design team members, supervise the work of engineers and modelers, and direct project staff in preparing contract documents such as drawings and specifications.
• Participate in the QAQC program for projects.
