Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Structural Project Engineer in Raleigh, NC. You will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects, collaborating with senior staff on larger work. You will provide engineering solutions and oversight of structural systems for buildings and other structures.

This role involves project planning, budgeting, mentoring, and cross-functional coordination across the Southeast, contributing to sustainable design including SE2050.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 2 years minimum experience, 4 preferred in building design consulting.
• Proficiency in design techniques, tools and concepts for technical plans.
• Strong technical and analytical skills in mechanics, materials, load paths and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and design of structural systems for buildings and other structures.
• Create detailed designs, specifications and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information.
• Support project execution as part of a project team and mentor junior staff.
• Lead project planning, budgeting and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Document design decisions and monitor progress against percent complete and fees.
• Stay current on industry trends and contribute to innovation within IMEG.
