Job summary

IMEG Consultants is seeking a Structural Project Engineer in Raleigh, NC to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects. You will provide engineering solutions and guidance to clients while supporting analysis, design and oversight of structural systems for buildings and other structures.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
• 2 years of experience minimum, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry.
• Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
• Proficiency in BIM software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and design of structural systems using a variety of building materials.
• Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Collaborate with clients to understand needs and gather project requirements.
• Support consulting-project execution as part of a project team.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling efforts to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Document design decisions and client instructions, and monitor progress against percent complete and fee expended.
• Analyze engineering problems and develop practical, efficient solutions with senior engineers and consultants.
• Provide in-process design reviews of structural system design, calculations, and specifications.
• Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet standards and client requirements.
• Stay current on industry trends and innovations within IMEG.
• Prioritize safety and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Identify potential project problems and support projects through bidding, design and construction phases.
