Hixson Architecture Engineering & Interiors in Cincinnati is seeking a Structural Project Engineer with experience designing structural systems for large industrial and warehouse facilities. You will join a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and project managers on projects up to $500 million for leading brands in the food and beverage industry.

You’ll contribute to data collection, design, specifications, contract documents, shop drawings review, and construction coordination

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis) required.
• 5+ years of structural design experience required.
• Proficient in design of structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed metal framing, wood framing, and foundation systems.
• Experience with precast and tilt-up concrete projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the structural engineering portion of major projects across industrial, commercial, science and technology, and workplace sectors.
• Collaborate on all structural engineering deliverables including data collection, design, specifications, contract documents, shop drawing review, and construction coordination.
• Coordinate proactively with multi-discipline design teams to achieve innovative, buildable solutions.
• Serve as a mentor and technical resource for junior engineers.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and project managers working on complex projects up to $500 million for leading brands in the food and beverage industry. Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Civil, Structural, Environmental Health & Safety Engineering, the Project Engineer will contribute to the structural engineering portion of major projects across industrial, commercial, science and technology, and workplace sectors. The role encompasses data collection, design, specifications, contract documents, shop drawing review, construction coordination, proactive multidisciplinary coordination, and mentorship for junior engineers.

• 5+ years of structural design experience required
• Proficient in the design of structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold‑formed metal framing, wood framing, and foundation systems
• Understanding and knowledge of structural requirements for precast and tilt‑up concrete projects
• Demonstrated proficiency in producing structural construction documents within the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM environment using Revit
• Proficiency in structural analysis software, such as RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, Tekla TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, RISA, CFS, Anchor Designer (Strong‑Tie), Hilti Profis, Ideastatica, and Excel/VBA
