Job summary

Casa Grande Elementary School District is seeking a Skilled Maintenance Specialist - Structural Journeyman to maintain district facilities and campuses in safe operating condition. The role supports a preventive maintenance program and performs skilled maintenance across electrical, plumbing, locksmith, HVAC, grounds, and related trades.

Requirements include four years of prior journeyman level structural craft experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Arizona driver's license

Qualifications

• Four years of journeyman level structural craftsmanship experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Arizona driver's license and evidence of insurability; pesticide applicator license if required.
• Ability to operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment; perform carpentry, sheetmetal, masonry, painting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates assistance for repairs on various items, systems and/or components requiring skills of associated maintenance trades (e.g. electrical, plumbing, locksmith, HVAC, etc.)
• Inspects facility systems and their components (play structures, facility structural and specialty support systems, etc.)
• Operates and maintains vehicles, tools (powered and hand) and specialty equipment; performs a full range of structural journeyman skills and techniques (carpentry, sheetmetal, cement finishing, masonry, texture and painting)
• Prepares documentation (e.g. cost estimates, material & tool requisitions, drawings, work orders, etc.)
• Requests material, equipment and supplies; responds to emergency situations; reviews submitted work orders; transports items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.)
• Utilizes computer systems and wireless devices; applies pesticide applications, as required; assists other skill trades (e.g. electrical, plumbing, locksmith, HVAC, etc.) and performs other duties, as assigned.
