Job summary

Klover Contracting is seeking a Commercial Structural Joist Technician to install floor systems such as Comslab, EcoSpan, Hambro and traditional decking. You will read blueprints, measure accurately, and coordinate with the foreman on layouts and sequencing.

The role requires welding experience a plus, familiarity with safety PPE, and ability to work at heights on varied projects in the Tri-State area. We offer competitive benefits and a commitment to quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Participation in a secondary or post-secondary trade curriculum.
• 1+ year experience with floor joist, metal deck, or structural steel installation.
• Knowledge and understanding of construction safety devices and PPE.
• 1+ year experience with stick welding; AWS D1.1 SMAW 3G/4G certifications preferred.
• Rigging and Signaling experience is a plus.
• Basic carpentry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure and read height, width, length, and other proportions with a tape measure.
• Assist foreman with proper layout for work to be put in place.
• Fabricate or alter parts using grinders, sawzalls, shears, hammers, punches, or drills.
• Join materials with PAFs, nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Use levels, plumb bobs, framing squares, and lasers to ensure everything is level and secure.
• Check work to meet specifications and quality standards.
• Install flooring systems according to specifications and building codes.
• Maneuver units into position for installation and anchor them.
• Maintain welding certification through logs and supervision.
