Job summary

Taurus Industrial Group is seeking an Ironworker for Baytown, TX to erect, align, and secure structural steel on industrial projects. You will read blueprints, interpret drawings, and connect components using bolts, welds, rivets, and other methods. Must pass screenings and maintain safety standards.

The role requires ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate hand and power tools. Seasonal, on-site work with team collaboration and strict site safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years industrial or commercial ironworking experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check, if required.
• Must be physically capable of performing essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Erect, install, align, and secure structural steel, columns, beams, braces, trusses, and other metal framework.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Connect steel components using bolts, welds, rivets, or other fastening methods.
• Signal crane operators during lifting and placement of structural members.
• Install metal decking, stairs, handrails, grating, platforms, and miscellaneous steel components.
• Perform rigging and hoisting activities using slings, chokers, chains, and other rigging equipment.
• Measure, cut, fit, and position steel components for proper alignment and installation.
• Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain and inspect tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Follow all company, customer, and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training programs.
• Work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
