Job summary

ICS, Inc (Industrial Contract Services) seeks a skilled ironworker/steel erector to raise, place and connect girders and structural-steel members on diverse projects in Grand Forks, ND. You will follow safety policies and operate hoisting equipment to position heavy members with precision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6 months of experience (or a 1-year technical certificate), and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Minimum 6 months experience, or 1-year certificate from a technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to add/subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide with tens and hundreds and use unit weights and volumes.

Responsibilities

Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
Setup hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members.
Fasten steel members to cable of hoist using chain, cable or rope.
Signal worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel member.
Guide member using tag line to guide it into position.
Pull, push or pry steel members into approximate position while supported by hoisting device.
Bolt aligned members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place.
Cut and weld steel members to make alterations using oxyacetylene welding equipment.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Other duties as assigned by Foreman or Superintendent.
