Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a PhD Economics Intern in Structural IO for Summer 2027. This full-time internship focuses on structural econometric analysis of strategic behavior and firm decisions, with datasets and models that inform business optimization.

Responsibilities include building data and applying advanced econometric methods, collaborating with economists and business leaders, and presenting findings to executives.

Qualifications

• 3rd year or greater PhD student in Economics or related field.
• Knowledge of data analysis languages (R, Stata, Python) or other statistical software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale datasets using structural econometric techniques to solve complex business challenges.
• Apply discrete choice models and methods, including logistic regression family models.
• Utilize dynamic models of decisions over time, game theory, auction models, and labor market models.
• Build datasets and perform data analysis at scale.
• Collaborate with economists, scientists and business leaders to develop data-driven insights.
• Tackle pricing analysis, competition modeling, strategic behavior estimation and marketing strategy optimization.
• Help formalize and estimate business objectives to drive optimal decision-making.
• Build and refine comprehensive datasets for in-depth structural economic analysis.
• Present complex analytical findings to business leaders and stakeholders.
