Amazon Economics is seeking a Structural IO Economist Intern (STRUC) for Summer 2027 in Arlington, VA. This full-time internship (40 hours/week) provides hands-on experience with structural econometric models and large-scale datasets to inform business optimization and strategic decisions.

You will work with economists and business leaders on pricing, competition, and contract design while contributing to dissertation-ready analyses.

Qualifications

• 3rd year+ PhD student in Economics or related field.
• Experience in structural econometric methods.
• Proficiency with statistical software (R, Stata, Python).

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale datasets using structural econometric techniques.
• Apply discrete choice models and related methods (BLP, nested logit).
• Use dynamic models and applied game theory to study strategic decisions.
• Build datasets and perform data analysis at scale.
• Collaborate with economists and business leaders to provide data-driven insights.
• Tackle pricing, competition modeling, and marketing strategy questions.
• Help formalize and estimate business objectives for value creation.
• Present findings to senior stakeholders.
