Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking Engineering students to join our Frisco, Texas office. This is not a remote position. Interns will learn and apply software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, GIS, and more while contributing to bridge and structural projects.

The role focuses on preparing plans, specifications, and estimates, supporting project managers, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This is an in-office opportunity for current ABET-accredited students.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering degree program (Bachelor's or Master's).
• Majors include Civil/Environmental/Structural Engineering or related fields such as Mechanical, Electrical, Biosystems, Chemical, Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

• Use technical software to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
• Assist with pre-construction on structural projects like bridges and walls.
• Prepare bridge/structural plans, specs and estimates for clients.
• Collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions for built environments.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering students to join our Frisco, Texas (TX) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to the pre-construction on structural projects like bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts related to public and/or private bridge projects.
• Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates for clients
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Structural Interns will learn one or more software programs: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
• Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
• Structural Engineering
• Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
• Engineering Technology
