Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking Engineering students for an on-site internship in our Phoenix, AZ office. The role emphasizes applying technical software to analyze and QC deliverables and supporting bridge and structural projects.

Interns will work with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and GIS, learning regulations and client practices while collaborating with multiple disciplines to deliver design solutions.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
• Contribute to pre-construction on bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts for public and private bridge projects.
• Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates for clients.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions.
• Develop familiarity with applicable regulations and client practices and standards.
• Learn and use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and GIS.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering students to join our Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to the pre-construction on structural projects like bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts related to public and/or private bridge projects.
• Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates for clients
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Structural Interns will learn one or more software programs: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
• Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
• Structural Engineering
• Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
• Engineering Technology
